Personal Project: Digital Breakout

23/10/2017

I designed this Digital Breakout as a fun activity to do at the end of our PP Bootcamp if we had time left-over. A lot of students self-selected to do this, enjoyed it and most were able to 'break out'.

A digital breakout is based on the 'Escape the Room' Games. Students find hidden information, solve cryptic clues, and enter passwords into 'digital padlocks' (A Google Form) to be successful.

Here is the link to the Digital Breakout.

The solutions are:
  1. DUDUDL
If you look at the first paragraph, you'll see hidden directional clues..."The timer has started - the clock is counting down - It's time to rise up and take on the challenge")
  2. aiii
If you look at the Big 6 (research) Image, you'll see 'criterion? strand?' in tiny blue writing. They are looking for where research is assessed - Criterion A - Strand iii
  3. process
The SNOTE linked in the first paragraph says 'Way more important than the product'
  4.  fairness
When students complete the jigsaw, they will see all six global contexts, with the word 'fairness' removed.
  5. 3499
There's a meme with "Check word count - one word less than word limit". 3499 is one word less than the 3500 word limit!
  6.  exhibition
There are some cats DJing/partying... We hand in our reports, then we celebrate at the exhibition!

Also there are hints at the very bottom of the page.
P.S. Here is my Animal Farm digital breakout too.
