Next week I will be running some ATL training sessions for teachers in my school. I wanted to practice before hand, so recorded a video - This can also be used by teachers who cannot attend, and anyone who wants to run the session in their own school can use this at guidance.

Hi there!

Your blog and videos are so helpful!

I will start my first ever MYP teaching position at an IB school in August, and feeling a little rattled. Could you give advice to a first-time IB teacher to help me prepare and hit the road running?

Jim

Of course!
Make sure you use your unit planner - you should use the statement of inquiry, inquiry questions etc to guide your teaching.
Make sure you are exposing students to a wide range of perspectives, (example, different countries).
Get involved with #MYPChat on Twitter and various facebook groups.
When I first was offered a job at an IB school, the principal said 'don't worry - it takes people a year to get used to the MYP'!
Ask questions - don't be afraid to try new things - have fun

That is so helpful! Imagine if all educators had the same passion to share and collaborate with their peers. You're an inspiration!
