ATL Toolkit!

10/12/2017

I've shared a few posts about Approaches to Learning (ATL Skills) before:
  • ATL Posters
  • ATL Training
  • ATL Reflections
and I haven't posted a link to my ATL Toolkit, but have not explicitly talked about it here.

My ATL toolkit has every ATL Skill, Cluster and Indicator...but then with each indicator, it gives resources, including thinking routines, videos and strategies, to help you support students in developing those skills.

Some examples:
Communication - Give and Receive Meaningful Feedback
  • Use Google Forms for Peer Assessment
  • Use Coach's Eye in P.E. to give feedback on another students performance
  • IB: Oral presentation peer feedback
  • IB: Give and receive appropriate feedback
  • Teach students to TAG (Tell them something you like, Ask them a question, Give them a suggestion)
  • TED Ed: How miscommunication happens
  • Strategies presentation

The spreadsheet has resources for most indicators, but not all, and it is mostly full of things that I have found and used. My request is that people share the resources they use, so that I can add it to the ATL Toolkit - many heads are better than one right?

Please share links in the comments, or you can comment directly on the ATL TOOLKIT!

Hey!

Remember me from Evelyn Grace? What amazing things you do and have always done! One of education's gems!

Your materials are very helpful! Thank you for sharing. Our school's MYP authorization visit was literally 3 days before the world shut down due to Covid-19. We were authorized in July and have been distance learning since March. As a result we've had many changes at the site, namely a few new teachers. It is time for us to dig down into ATLs with new and current teachers.....do you have a slide deck that might assist with this? I've seen your YouTube from 10/17---it is very clear and well-organized. Before I begin from scratch, hoping you might have a tip! Thank you so much!

Your ATL google spreadsheet is wonderful! I have also run across another ATL spreadsheet that looks very similar by Alison Yang on her weebly: alisonyang.weebly.com. I am wondering how I can make a copy of this ATL spreadsheet to add to it.
